Vatican Tours

This is the official web site of the Vatican and they have their own guided tours from March to October. The tours are quite reasonably priced and save you queuing to get in to the Vatican Museums. You can only book by fax and they confirm by fax a day or so before, if you use this then you would have to give them our telephone number (which is also our fax number) and also let me know. I think the only problem is that you do not know if there is a tour and you are on it until you get the fax, if you are not on the tour then I think you only know by not receiving a fax. I have only recently found this web site so not sure yet how it all works as nobody has used it yet.

Roma Pass

A 3 consecutive day pass that gives you free entry to 2 museums and reductions on others, in addition gives 3 days unlimited use of public transport in Rome, costs 22 euro. The Colossuem alone costs 12.50 euro so it is good value and you don’t have to queue. It can be bought at the tourist office in the Rome Termini station as well as any of the attractions listed.

Pierreci

A site where you can book advanced tickets and save queuing, do not know if it can be used in conjunction with the Roma Pass.
